Sharing our lives with animals

Animals are wonderful and can help enhance your life

They have their own social rules and methods of communication. Like humans, every animal is unique and they can help enhance our lives and the lives of those around us.

To share our lives with an animal is good for your heart, stress levels, and blood vessels.

When a cat purrs they create a wonderful vibration, which can be therapeutic. Having animals around can help lower our blood pressure and can help to have a long-term impact on the cardiovascular system. They help to calm our nerves and often prevent loneliness.

Bringing and sharing one’s life with them can bring so much joy and happiness to people. It helps to encourage exercise and companionship. With more and more evidence shows that your physical well-being can also improve.

Our canine friends can help us to improve our fitness through regular exercise which is essential for dogs. More frequent walks help to raise the heartbeat from around 80 beats per minute to 140 beats per minute. With a raised heartbeat, more blood and oxygen gets delivered to the heart muscle which helps to keep both the heart and lungs healthy.

However, if you don’t have a companion animal in your life or circumstances can’t accommodate a new furry friend, you can always visit your local rescue centre and help them by volunteering.

Visit your local animal rescue centre and help save a life by adopting a homeless animal.
